Why inkscape sucks

That green box from hell is the bane of my experience with that program. I've sp- wasted at least an hour trying to figure this out so I believe I'm entitled to some ranting here.

Is it even possible to make it bigger? Without affecting the objects within it? *tries it again* Can't say I didn't try.

Not only that, this thing refuses to save in svg formats and stuff. Waay too buggy to be of any practical use for me, maybe it doesn't like Apple computers?
